The major of fashion and costume design, formerly known as the fashion design and fashion performance party in the major of art design, started school enrollment in 2004 and renamed the major of fashion and costume design in 2013 according to the catalogue of undergraduate majors of ordinary colleges and universities issued by the Ministry of education. It is a comprehensive discipline involving fashion design, fashion process production, image design, marketing management and fashion performance.

Professional orientation: Based on Guangxi and the Pearl River Delta economic circle, with service as the purpose, market-oriented, design as the main and performance as the auxiliary, it provides talent guarantee for local economic construction and industry development.
Training objectives: the major of fashion and fashion design aims to be an applied talent engaged in fashion design or fashion performance, with strong design creativity or performance practice ability, master the basic operation knowledge of the industry, and be able to engage in design, teaching, management, performance and training in the field of fashion design, applied research or model performance institutions.
This major is market-oriented, serves the industry, establishes the teaching system of two major curriculum modules of fashion design and fashion performance, integrates multiple disciplines, relies on regional cultural resources, gives full play to the technical advantages of the school, and uses diversified technical means for teaching. Students have strong practical work application ability in fashion design innovation, artistic aesthetics, practical management and so on.
